After weeks of planning and postponing, we had finally decided on Dec. 1st as the night.  Little did we know that a big storm would be coming in that very weekend. Rather than postpone it again, we decided to go ahead and have it rain or shine.

Driving down from SF, I was amazed to discover how much drier it was in Sunnyvale as compared with up north.  It was quite a sight to pull into the parking lot and see all the beautiful Esprits.  (Like I always joke at these events...when I die, heaven better look like this!)

Despite the deluge, all things considered, we still had a very good turnout with over 14 people attending. With over 50 members, had it not been for the weather and business travel that many people had that week, I'm quite certain that the numbers would have been many times more!

Among the highlights of the evening were John Zender's hot SE motored yellow Esprit, Bill Young's gorgeous Azure Blue V8, Lox's bright red V8, Lonnie's beautiful white S4S with chrome wheels and DVD player, Mark's brand new black V8, and others.  New member Ed Sham showed up driving a hot red Renault R5 Turbo (original owner!).  We are hoping that getting together with everyone that night has him even more motivated to take the plunge into Lotus ownership.

Lox Thomson did an outstanding job of arranging and coordinating this dinner and in his usual fashion, generously offered rides in his awesome red V8 to all potential future Lotus lovers.

All in all, it was a most enjoyable, fun-filled evening with excellent food, wine, conversation, and of course, Loti.  Even my girlfriend, who finally attended one of our get-togethers for the first time, was excited when we left

and was very much impressed with all the positive energy that everyone exuded.

Thanks again to everyone that endured the weather to make it down to this event.  For those of you that weren't able to make it this time, you missed a truly fun and memorable evening and we hope to see you next time!

Can you visualize a long line of Esprits going from the Marina Green in SF all the way down Chestnut St., Fillmore St., Union St., then down the crookedest street in the world portion of Lombard Street before continuing on to the Beach Chalet as a group?  Well, it happened and that was one of our events earlier this year.
