Lotus Club Laguna Seca Track Day Februrary 23, 2015

Registration is now open for the Golden Gate Lotus Club’s first track day of the year which will be at Laguna Seca Raceway in Moneterey, California on Monday, February 23rd. We will be running (3) run groups with approximately 20 minute sessions each. Your options will be Advanced Group, Intermediate Group, and Novice Group. There are a limited number of Beginner slots that have been filled already by people emailing us directly. Beginners will run in the Novice Group and will be required to have a coach assigned to them to ride in the passenger seat in order to enter the track. If we can find more coaches, we will send out an announcement for additional beginner slots.

Price is $210 for non-members and $190 for members.

Your registration will include lunch from the Crusin’ Café. This consists of a variety of chicken and beef dishes and sandwiches as well as burgers. There will be options for vegetarians but we are still sorting through the details of all the lunch options. Approximately two weeks prior to the event you will receive an email with all the options and you will email us back your choice. If we can figure out how to use Motorsportreg for this, we’ll let you know.

Due to the restrictions imposed by Laguna Seca on the number of cars allowed on the track at one time, there will be no bridging of run groups as we normally do at other venues. Also, be aware that there will be absolutely no refunds. If you cancel before February 9th and we can fill your spot, we will give you a rain check for a future event. Only sign up if you know you can attend. We will run this event rain or shine.

Also, THIS WILL BE A 90dB EVENT! DO NOT RELY ON LIFTING AT THE SOUND CHECK – if your exhaust or intake is loud, take measures to reduce your levels before the event.

We will be running (3) run groups with approximately 20 minute sessions each. Your options will be Advanced Group, Intermediate Not-So-Fast Group, and Intermediate Fast Group. There are a limited number of Beginner slots available and those entrants will run in the Not-So-Fast Intermediate group. Beginners will be required to have a coach assigned to them to ride in the passenger seat in order to enter the track.

Price is $170 for members and $190 for non-members.

GGLC Thunderhill 5 mile event (11-Sept-14)

The Golden Gate Lotus Club will be hosting an Open Track Day on Thursday, September 11th, 2014 at Thunderhill Raceway Park in Willows, California. We will run the new 5-mile long, 27-turn track configuration in the standard counter-clockwise direction but this time it will be WITH THE BYPASS.

Due to the length of the track, we will have only two run groups – Group A and Group B, with sessions lasting approximately 25 minutes. This should give each driver approximately 3.5 hours of track time. Group A will have open passing for experienced drivers with 20+ track days/race experience or equivalent. Group B will have restricted passing rules for Novice/intermediate and less aggressive drivers. Price will be $175 for members and $195 for non-members. You can become a GGLC member for $25. Additional drivers sharing a car in a single run group are $60. Two drivers sharing a car and driving in both groups will each have to pay full price.

All types of cars are welcome to attend. Formula cars will be allowed in the open passing group only. Convertibles must have roll-over protection. Factory installed roll hoops are acceptable.

We are accepting a limited number of beginners at this event who will be assigned a coach. These individuals will run in Group B with the Novice/Intermediate drivers. Price for Beginners is $155. Thunderhill is a good track to learn on, if you know anyone who might be interested in attending this event, you can direct them to the Motorsportreg.com website where they can sign-up.

Thunderhill Raceway’s 104dB sound limit will be strictly enforced.

Thunderhill full track event registration is open

Registration is now open for the Golden Gate Lotus Club Thunderhill Track Day on Thursday, June 26th, 2014 in Willows, California. This will be our inaugural event running the new 5-mile long, 27-turn track configuration in the standard counter-clockwise direction, with the Cyclone.

All types of cars are welcome to come out and play with us. Formula cars will be allowed in the open passing group only. Convertibles must have roll-over protection. Factory installed roll hoops are acceptable.

Thunderhill Registration is now Open (12-Sept-13)

Registration is now open for the Golden Gate Lotus Club Thunderhill Track Day on September 12th, 2013 in Willows, California. This event will be run BACKWARDS (clockwise direction), with the Cyclone. Please note that this is currently our last scheduled track day for the year.

We will be running our regular Thunderhill format which allows you to bridge run groups. There will be three run groups but you will sign up for either Novice/Intermediate or Intermediate/Advanced. We will be offering early bird pricing for this event at $135 for GGLC members, and $155 for non-members. This price will increase to $155 for members and $175 for non-memberes after August 23rd, so sign up early! Additional drivers sharing a car are $50. You can become a GGLC member for $25.

We will accept 3-4 beginners at this event. Please send us an email at events@gglotus.org if you are interested and we will let you know the details of that arrangement.

GGLC Track Day at Sonoma Raceway (Sears Point) August 3rd

Come join the Golden Gate Lotus Club for this open track event at Sonoma Raceway August 3rd

We are running this event in conjunction with the Shelby Club. The Shelby club will have 3 run groups and the Lotus Club will have 1. The Lotus group will have 1 full hour of exclusive open track from 8-9 AM and then approximately five 20 minutes sessions throughout the day between 9 AM and 4PM. Price for this event is $275 and you do not have to be a Shelby or GGLC member to participate.

We are limiting our GGLC run group to Lotus cars only. All types of Lotus and Lotus Clones (Caterham, Westfield), Lotus race cars, Lotus open wheeled cars are invited.

Non-Lotus owners may still participate in this event by entering one of the 3 Shelby Club run groups that are open to all brands of cars. Contact the Shelby club directly about this or go to http://www.norcal-saac.org/summersurprise/

This event is limited to drivers with minimum experience of 10 track days, racing background, or equivilent. If you have more than 5 and less than 10 days track experience and can provide an experienced coach to ride along, then we may allow you to particiapte but this will be on a case-by-case basis. Rules for the Lotus-only run group will be open passing in most sections of the track. Drivers with less experience and drivers who are not comfortable being passed in turns will be required to run an “X” on the back of their car for identification.

This event will run rain or shine. There will be no money back cancellations. If you need to cancel and we can fill your spot then we will offer you a transferrable rain check for a future event.

We will not conduct a tech inspection on your car. You are soley responsible for the safety of your car.

Open top cars must have a roll bar. Factory installed roll bars and hoops are OK.

In our continual effort to provide our customers with the maximum amount of track time, we will be running our regular Thunderhill format which allows you to bridge run groups. There will be three run groups but you will sign up for either Novice/Intermediate or Intermediate/Advanced. We will be offering early bird pricing for this event at $135 for GGLC members, and $155 for non-members. Laguna Seca registration is now open (11-Feb Event)

Come join the Golden Gate Lotus Club for this open track event at Laguna Seca Raceway February 11, 2013

You do not need to own a Lotus to attend this event. Price is $190 for non-GGLC members and $170 for members. You can purchase a yearly membership for $25. This event will be limited to a total of 3 groups of 35 cars each. Groups will be determined based on popularity. For instance, there may be two Advanced groups and one Intermediate if more people sign-up for Advanced. An email will be sent out once we have an idea of what the groups will be. Advanced Group will be with open passing and Intermediate Group will be restricted passing. The groups will be classified as follows:

Intermediate Group
You must have a minimum of 10 track days experience. Passing without a point-by will be allowed on the long straights and some of the short straights. Passing in turns will be allowed with a point-by.

ADVANCED Group
You must have a minimum of 20 track days experience. Passing without a point-by will be allowed everywhere except through the corkscrew.

Laguna Seca enforces a strict sound limit of 92 db.

This event will run rain or shine. There will be no money back cancellations. If you need to cancel and we can fill your spot by January 30th, then we will offer you a rain check for a future event.

We will not conduct a tech inspection on your car. You are soley responsible for the safety of your car.

Open top cars must have a roll bar. Factory installed roll bars are OK. Open wheeled cars will be allowed in the Advanced group

There will be no formal instruction offered at this event. You are always encouraged to ask more experienced drivers for help, advice, ride-a-longs, etc.

Thunderhill Track Day registration is now open

Registration is now open for the Golden Gate Lotus Club’s fourth track day of the year. This event will be held at Thunderhill Raceway Park in Willlows, CA on Tuesday, September 25, 2012. We will follow our traditional format of three run groups, allowing you to bridge two run groups in order to give you maximum track time. We will be running in the normal (counter-clockwise) direction WITH THE BYPASS this time.

Participants will sign up for either Novice/Intermediate, or Intermediate/Advanced depdending on your experience level. Early Bird pricing will be $140 for members and $160 for non-members. That price will increase after 9/12/2012 to $160 for members and $180 for non-members. Click here to register and sign-up early to ensure you pay the lower price.
